Majlis-e-Jafaria Pakistan has categorically rejected the Government of Pakistan’s decision to join the so-called “Board of Peace” of former US President Donald Trump, declaring it unconstitutional, illegal, contrary to national interests, and completely against the will of the people. These views were expressed by the leaders of Majlis-e-Jafaria during a joint press conference.
Those present at the press conference included senior leader of the Shia Ulema Council Allama Syed Nazir Abbas Taqvi; representative of Madaris-e-Imamia, senior religious scholar Allama Sheikh Hassan Salahuddin; President of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Karachi Allama Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Jafri; central activist of the All Pakistan Shia Action Committee Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain; head of Majlis Zakireen Imamia Allama Nisar Qalandari; ISO leader Hassan Raza; head of the Central Anjuman-e-Azadari S.M. Naqi; General Secretary of the Pak Muharram Association Sarwar Ali; leader of Imamia Organization Pakistan Karachi Ahsan Mehdi; representative of the Council of Imams and Ulema Imamia Maulana Aqeel Musa; Allama Ishaq Qir’ati of Majlis-e-Ulema Maktab-e-Ahl-e-Bait (AS); and Maulana Baqir Shujai of Tehreek-e-Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa.
In the joint press conference, it was stated that the Trump Board of Peace is, in reality, not a platform for global peace but a well-organized plan to protect American and Israeli interests, aimed at weakening international institutions such as the United Nations and controlling global politics through the use of force. The speakers said that under the guise of the Gaza Peace Board, Israel is being provided protection while the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are being trampled.
The religious scholars and leaders made it clear that even after two years since “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” Israel has failed to defeat Hamas, and now a conspiracy is underway to disarm resistance forces through the armies of Islamic countries. They said this move is an attempt to permanently eliminate the concept of an independent Palestinian state. Majlis-e-Jafaria Pakistan announced that it stands firmly with Hamas and the Palestinian people, and that the blood of more than 60,000 Palestinian martyrs cannot be bargained away under any circumstances. Using Islamic armies against Hamas or any resistance group, they said, is an open conspiracy to pit the Muslim Ummah against itself.
The press conference stated in unequivocal terms that the Pakistan Army will not, under any circumstances, be allowed to be used against Gaza or any resistance movement. The Pakistan Army is the guardian of Pakistan and Islam, and using it to serve American or Israeli agendas is unacceptable. The participants described the figures behind the so-called Board of Peace as drenched in the blood of Muslims, saying that talk of peace under such leadership is nothing but deception. They termed Trump’s demand for millions of dollars as a fee for joining the board as open blackmail and one of the worst examples of modern colonial politics.
The religious leaders emphasized that Pakistani taxpayers’ money cannot be spent on Israel or its patron-backed projects, and that establishing relations with Israel at any level is tantamount to betrayal of Pakistan’s ideology. They recalled that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA) laid the foundation of Pakistan’s foreign policy by refusing to recognize Israel. The press conference also strongly condemned the provocative statements, insults, and threats of assassination made by former US President Donald Trump against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.
The speakers warned that any attempt to harm Ayatollah Khamenei would have severe and far-reaching consequences across the entire region, for which the United States would bear full responsibility. Majlis-e-Jafaria Pakistan demanded that the Government of Pakistan immediately announce its disassociation from the so-called Trump Board of Peace; uphold an independent and sovereign foreign policy; refrain from using Pakistani resources, armed forces, and capital for pro-Israel projects; make moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Palestinian people a state policy; and summon the US ambassador to lodge a strong protest over the threats issued against Ayatollah Khamenei.
At the conclusion of the press conference, Majlis-e-Jafaria Pakistan appealed to the nation, political leadership, and state institutions to prioritize the principled stance of the founder of Pakistan, public sentiment, and the collective interests of the Muslim Ummah over all international pressure.
